Cowboys vs Packers Analysis
These teams appear to be headed in opposite directions. After a fantastic offensive showcase against the Houston Texans, Dallas crashed back to earth last week in a 24-16 loss to the banged up Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, all the Packers did was light up the Chicago Bears 31-7, with Jordan Love throwing for 367 yards and two scores in the victory. Green Bay’s offense finally looked like the unit many expected to see this season. Matt Lafleur pushed the ball downfield, creating easy completions using play action and consistently put Love in position to attack Chicago’s secondary. When the Packers can protect Love and allow him to play aggressively, they’re one of the most dangerous passing attacks in the NFL.
Love and Lafleur will be salivating at the sight of the Cowboys putrid secondary on the schedule. Opposing quarterbacks are carving up Dallas this season, consistently finding explosive plays. As such, Green Bay will have little reason to abandon their downfield game plan on SNF.
That gives us a clear runway to the OVER 52.5. We know Green Bay will be able to move the football against Dallas. Plus, the Cowboys offense until last week, was having an historically great start to the season, ranking fifth since the year 2000 with 3.39 points per drive. With two aggressive quarterbacks and two defenses that can give up yards through the air, Cowboys vs Packers has all the makings of a Sunday night shootout.

It’s not a massive +EV play, but Jordan Love OVER 274.5 passing yards at +105 odds at BetRivers is my SNF pick. Love enjoys playing the Cowboys secondary, and is averaging 304 yards per game, along with touchdowns in two career games against Dallas.
Most importantly, we just witnessed Matt Lafleur reach back into his playcalling bag to help Love carve up the Bears. All of a sudden, the Packers passing attack looks like one of the most dangerous in the NFL. Just in time for them to take on the morbid Cowboys secondary, who allow 227 passing yards per game, and are dead last in EPA per pass (+0.36) surrendered this season.
The game script also lookts set to wrok in our favor. With a total of 52.5 points, and a small spread of 1.5, sportsbooks are telling bettors SNF will be a high scoring matchup that remains competitive into the fourth quarter. That will keep Love throwing the football, as the Packers will need to keep pace with the Cowboys explosive offense.
