What is the Kelly Criterion?
The Kelly Criterion computes the mathematically optimal fraction of your bankroll to stake given your edge: bet more when the edge is big and the odds are short, less when the edge is thin or the payout is a longshot. Full Kelly maximizes long-term growth but is brutally volatile — most sharp bettors stake a fraction of it (quarter or half Kelly) to smooth out the ride.
How to use it
1.Enter your bankroll and a Kelly multiplier (0.25 = quarter Kelly, the common choice).
2.Enter the odds offered and your estimated true win probability.
3.The recommended bet is the Kelly fraction of bankroll, scaled by your multiplier.
Example
With a $1,000 bankroll, a bet at +100 you think wins 55% of the time has a full-Kelly stake of $100 — quarter Kelly says bet $25.
